Fudgy & Rich Brownies

Rich and fudgy brownies that are easy to make and will beat any box mix from the store! Guaranteed! These are my go to brownies for any occasion or chocolate craving.

Ingredients Needed:

  • Butter

  • Sugar

  • Eggs

  • Pure Vanilla Extract

  • Instant Espresso Powder (optional)

  • Vegetable Oil

  • All Purpose Flour

  • Salt

  • Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips (optional)

Recipe Notes:

  • Melt the sugar in the melted butter and let it cool. This and adding chocolate chips will give it a crackly crust.

  • When adding espresso powder be sure to dissolve espresso powder in 1-2 teaspoon of room temperature water before adding to your batter.

Tools Needed:

8x8 Glass Baking Pan

Instant Espresso Powder

Recipe Ingredients:

  • ½ cup melted butter

  • 1 cup of sugar

  • 2 eggs

  • 1 teaspoon of pure vanilla extract

  • 1 teaspoon of espresso powder

  • 1 teaspoon of vegetable oil

  • ½ cup of all purpose flour

  • ½ cup of cocoa powder

  • ¼ teaspoon salt

  • ½ cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips (optional)

Directions:

  1. Start baking melting 1/2 cup of butter in a small to medium bowl and add 2 cups of sugar to melted butter. Light stir and set aside to let the sugar dissolve into the butter. You want this mixture to cool completely before adding to the rest of the ingredients.

  2. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a 8x8 pan with parchment paper. Set aside.

  3. In a large mixing bowl combine 1/2 cup of flour, 1/2 cup cocoa powder, and 1/4 teaspoon of salt. Whisk together.

  4. In a small dish prepare the instant espresso by adding 1 teaspoon of instant espresso to 1 tablespoon of cold water mix and add into the next step.

  5. In the butter and sugar mixture add in the remaining wet ingredients: 2 eggs, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, ½ tablespoon of vegetable oil, and instant espresso. Whisk ingredients until combined.

  6. Add wet mixture to your large bowl of flour and cocoa powder. Lightly fold all ingredient together, do not overmix.

  7. Pour batter into baking pan and bake in the oven for 25-35 minutes. Check using a toothpick or fork. If toothpick comes out with a little crumbs pull out the oven. You want the brownies to be a little wet on the toothpick and they will finish cooking as they cool in the pan.

Storing Notes:

Store in an air tight container or wrap pan with saran wrap once brownies have completely cooled.
